We strive to provide caring, non-judgmental support for birth parents considering adoption, to unite children and infants in need of a home with hopeful adoptive parents, and to create strong, loving families of all shapes and sizes.
Birth Parents
For anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy, HFS’s Birth Parents program offers free, unbiased counseling in English and Spanish, the chance to choose and meet your child’s adoptive family, practical help with costs like rent and food, and support for life, whatever you decide.
Infant Adoption
HFS’s Infant Adoption program guides single parents and couples through every step of open adoption, from orientation and home study to matching and placement, with fixed, low fees and support in English and Spanish.
Fost-Adopt
Our Fost-Adopt program bridges the gap between a child’s initial need for temporary care and the long-term need for a permanent home.
Foster Care
HFS’s Foster Care program asks resource parents to open their homes to children who need temporary care, from newborns waiting on an adoption decision to children in county custody, and provides training, monthly stipends and ongoing support from a social worker and nurse.
Post-Adoption Support
HFS’s Post-Adoption Support program stays with birth parents, adoptees, adoptive families, and birth siblings for years after placement, offering ongoing counseling, support groups, access to adoption records and, when everyone consents, help arranging a reunion.
Outreach and Education
HFS’s Outreach and Education program sends speakers to hospitals, schools, churches, colleges and community groups at no charge, with talks on adoption basics and the sensitive issues facing adoptive and birth families, plus free one-hour continuing education training for healthcare providers.
