Dear Expecting Mother/Parents,
“As soon as I saw you, I knew adventure was going to happen” (A.A. Milne), this is how I felt when I met Brandon. Since than we have gone on many adventures together, camping, hiking, off roading, trips across the country, falling in love, getting married, but our biggest adventure is yet to come, and that is having a child. We dream of starting a family of our own and we have decided to do that through adoption. I suffer from infertility and Brandon and I decided that instead of going through years of fertility treatments we want to start our family through adoption.
My name is Desiree, and I am an artist and high school teacher, I love my job and being able to share my love of art with my students and one day with my own child. Teaching has taught me to be patient and to not sweat the small stuff. I enjoy painting, spending time outdoors, taking our dogs for a walk, spending time with friends and family. Brandon is an Engineer, who loves to spend time outdoors, working on projects, or spending time with friends and family. He is patient, kind, and has the biggest heart of any person I know. We try to cook dinner every night and take our dogs for walks. On the weekends Brandon and I enjoy hosting board game nights, BBQs and family gatherings as well as camping trips with our friends. In our free time we like to spend time together, cooking, playing games, and having movie nights. We enjoy going on trips or as we call them “adventures” to new places, we have plans of visiting many places and would love to experience that as a family with our child.
Our family is very excited about our decision to adopt and very supportive, family is very important to both Brandon and myself and we spend as much time with them as possible whenever we can. Currently we have two beautiful dogs who we love very much and enjoy taking them to the park and for walks every day. They get to play with the children in our neighborhood and we cannot wait for them to play with our child.
For our own family we want to be patient and understanding with our child. We want to raise them to be a good person, who is kind, and cares for others. Education is very important to us because we want the best future for our child, if that means they want to go to college we will support that decision or if they want a different career that doesn’t require a college education we will also support and encourage them to follow that path. The main thing we want is for our child to grow up to be a happy, healthy, and kind person who is living a fulfilling life.
We want to thank you for making the decision to make an adoption plan for your child. I cannot imagine how difficult this decision must be for you, all I can say is that without a wonderful person like you, Brandon and I could not hope to be parents. We are both very excited about starting this next great adventure in our lives by becoming parents. We are open to visits if that is what you would like, and to share photos through a mutual webpage and Holy Family Services. Your child will always know that you love them and that you made this difficult decision so that they could have the best life you could offer them. Thank you.
