Hi! I’m Katelin,

I am the oldest of two and I am very close with my family, both immediate and extended; they are all beyond excited to welcome the newest little member of the family.  Both my family and my friends are a vital part of my life and support system and I am so blessed to have them all.  Two of my three best friends I have known since high school and the third has been in my support system for over ten years; all six of their collective kids call me auntie and it’s an absolute joy to be that to them!

I am also a high school English teacher and I absolutely love my job and my students!  Spending time with teenagers is not something most people would put on their want-to-do list, but I cherish every day and every moment I get to build connections with my students and impact their futures even the tiniest bit. I hope to pass on what I have learned about fostering confidence and kindness in my students to my own child, and build on what my students have taught me about best supporting them. My desire is to foster for my child a life of fun, love, excitement, empathy, and interest in finding what makes them happy, so they have all the skills to go out into the world as a learner, an explorer, and a good human.

Dear Birth Parents,

I want to thank you for your decision to bring new life into this world. That is not an easy decision and you are giving your baby so much potential through your love and hope for their bright future.  They have the best possible start in life because you already love them and you have given them opportunity, love, and the security they deserve.  Your love for your baby will not be forgotten. 

I would like to introduce myself and my greatest desire to be a loving mother to your baby. I am currently single, but I have always wanted to be a mother and I have always wanted to adopt rather than have a biological baby of my own.  At eighteen, due to a medical situation, I was told I may not be able to have children and while I do not know that for sure as I have never tried, I already back then decided that I wanted to adopt when it came time to become a mother.  My dad was also adopted and I hope to build a beautiful, loving family the way my grandparents did for him. 

I plan to tell my child about you from the moment they are in my arms, so that they know they were loved by you and that you chose a good life and a loving home for them to thrive.  I am beyond excited to become a mother and a loving parent and I am open to sharing life updates and photos through Holy Family Services if that is something you would want. Thank you for your bravery and for loving your baby and letting me love them too!
